La Asperilla

(20/20) : Asperilla is a herbaceous plant with bell-shaped flowers. Its scientific name is Campanula erinus . It is a plant that has hairs on the stems and leaves. As a place, it is deduced that it must have had many of these plants, although Asperilla is also a surname.


This soft baby suri alpaca yarn is wrapped in the silk fiber and then brushed to produce that halo of fur surrounding it. It is a good substitute for mohair, has a longer pile and will give a wonderful halo when combined with any other knitting wool. It’s like synthetic wool, but natural and sustainable, what more could you ask for?

It is very versatile and can be used for a lot of projects and with many different needle thicknesses depending on the result you want to achieve.

Combine it with DK or Fingering yarns to give your project warmth, volume and texture.

(19/20) Valderretamosa: valley full of brooms (val – valley, from retamo (broom) + suffix -osa denoting, in general, abundance of what is meant by the base).

(18/20) Esperanza: place where the hermitage that welcomes the Virgin with the same name is located, during the week of Pentecost. This Virgin is carried in pilgrimage, and during the whole week, many lilleros walk there every day (about 8 km).

Albarenal

(15/20) Albarenal: place near La Esperanza, where the pilgrimage takes place, adjacent to another place called Hondo del Albarenal.

Features and details:

Composition: 75% Australian merino extra fine – 25% silk
Thickness: Fingering – 4 strands
Color: magenta, gray and orange tones. Dyed with ecological acids (OEKO-TEX 100 certified), in an artisan way, by hand, in our village.
Approximately 400 m per 100 g
Recommended needles: 3 – 4.5mm (US 2-7)
Sample (stockinette stitch): 32 s x 40 rows in 10cm on 3.25mm needles (US3)

It is one of our softest wools. The silk gives it not only great softness, but also a lot of shine. It is Superwash, but as it is dyed with natural dyes, hand washing at a maximum of 30º is recommended.

Combines with… Unquílez, La Zanahoria, El Coscojal and Carrameña

El Cerrillo

(7/20) El Cerrillo: place with a small hill.


Wool to knit of great softness and drape thanks to its luxurious composition. Contains 70% baby alpaca wool, 20% silk and 10% cashmere.

Skein dyed with certified organic acid dyes. My mother and I dyed it in our village: Lillo (Toledo), using techniques similar to those used in the past to dye cloth. This dyeing process is totally free of toxic substances and we also make a very responsible use of the water we use. As a final touch, our zero waste philosophy. You will not find plastic in our products and shipments.
